Public Computers:

9 - Public internet computers are located in the Reference area.  Most computers are loaded with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007. All public computers print to a network printer.  
1 - Macintosh Internet computer is located in the Young Adult area.  This computer prints to a local printer.
1- Dedicated Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) for catalog searches is located in the Children’s area.
2-  Public Internet computers are located in the Children’s area.  Computers are loaded with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007.
2-  AWE Early Literacy Stations (generously purchased by the Friends of the Norwell Public Library) are located in the Children’s Area.  

Public computers and printers will be shut down 15 minutes prior to closing.

Copy, Print, Fax, Scan, Microfilm:

1 Copier/Printer with black & white and color capabilities is located across from the Circulation Desk.  The charge for black & white printing or copying is 15 cents per page.  Color printing or copying is 75 cents per page.
1 Fax/scanner is located in the Reference area.  There is no charge to use the scanner.  The charge to send or receive a fax is $1.00 per page for numbers within the US and $5.00 per page for international numbers.
1 Microfilm reader is available with saving and printing capabilities.

Laptops and Mobile Devices:

A  laptop  and an iPad (both generously purchased by the Friends of the Norwell Public Library) are available for patrons to use in the library.  A signed borrower’s agreement is required and will be kept on file for future use.  The borrower’s valid OCLN library card and government-issued photo ID (such as driver’s license) will be held at the Circulation Desk during use.  For complete details, inquire at the Circulation Desk.

Wi-fi:

The library is equipped with Wi-fi for wireless Internet access from laptops and other mobile devices.  Patrons may need to select the library’s network (NPL or NPL2) from their device the first time they use it.  Library staff will not configure or troubleshoot patrons’ laptops.

Saving Your Files:

Be sure to save your files to a flash drive or CD.  Any files saved to library computers will automatically be deleted when the computers are shut down.  Public computers and printers will be shut down 15 minutes prior to closing.
