Summer Reading
It's easy to read for fun and win prizes this summer when you register for"Go Green at Your Library," the 2010 statewide summer reading program! "Go Green at Your Library" consists of both a reading component and programs/events, and runs from June 28 through August 6. Sign up for any number of activities, and have fun learning about recycling, gardening, and caring for our Earth while reading this summer!
How to Register for the Summer Reading Program
Readers entering Kindergarten through Grade 6 who register at the Circulation Desk will receive an Activity Log featuring a variety of fun activities, from reading books to attending library events. After completing 10 activities, redeem the log for a "Go Green" mood pencil and a raffle ticket for the summer's Grand Prize Raffle drawing. Each each additional five activities completed on a new Activity Log earns another raffle ticket-- the more activities completed, the greater the chance to win a prize!
Pre-school children and younger non-readers may also register for the summer reading program and will receive a "Book Bingo" card to complete for a small prize.
How to Register for Summer Library Programs
Registration for children's programs-- from stories and crafts to movies to video game nights to performances, and more -- begins on June 14. Program registrations are accepted online, by phone, or by visiting the library. The Summer Reading Program runs from June 28 through August 6, kicking off June 28 at 3:00 PM with a family concert featuring The Green Apple Kids Band!* Find program descriptions on this web site by clicking on the Calendar or pick up a program flier at the library.
