Participants are encouraged, but not required, to bring and read something they have written to each meeting. Larry Collins, former editor of the Boston Globe will make helpful suggestions. Computer Instruction

The Norwell Public Library offers free, individual, hands-on computer instruction during either morning or afternoon sessions every Thursday and some Wednesdays. The instruction helps people feel more comfortable using a computer and increases their skills. Interested persons call to schedule an individual appointment. Instruction ranges from basic searching for library materials and internet browsing, to specialized programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Norwell Library has volunteer positions for teens and adults. If you would like to offer your services be sure to request a volunteer form and we will match your abilities to the needs of the library. Credit may be applied for high school service requirements and Seniors seeking fuel assistance credit. This is a great way to give back to the community in a friendly and stimulating environment.

Cell Phones For Soldiers

The Norwell Public Library has joined the Cell Phones For Soldiers Program. The library is an official cell phone collection center. Used cell phones with battery attached may be dropped in the collection box at the library entryway. The Cell Phones For Soldiers nonprofit organization sells the phones to pay for pre-paid calling cards sent to troops overseas. Visit www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com to learn more about this effort started by two Norwell teenagers.
