The Friends of the Norwell Public Library is a volunteer, non-profit group of library patrons who work together to raise and give financial assistance to Norwell Public Library so that it may improve its services, resources and role in the community. The Friends operate Fred the Shed and his indoor counterpart Ethel, which are volunteer-maintained donated book sale sites. Hours are posted in the library. The Friends provide funding for museum passes, children’s and adult programs, high school scholarships, continuing education, Norwell Reads, support of the rental book collection, as well as other unfunded needs of the library.

Membership in the Friends is open to all. You may become a member by either sending in a donation and/or attending our monthly meetings, held on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm (excluding July and August).

Donations are gratefully accepted in any amount. All donations are tax deductible. You may designate your donation to be directed to the Program Fund, Building Fund or Endowment Fund. Checks may be payable to: Friends of Norwell Public Library (NPL), 64 South Street, Norwell, MA 02061. Any questions or comments may be directed to Christine Josti, Chair at cjosti@verizon.net and Mary Caldwell, Membership Chair at nursemary20@hotmail.com.
